Content Description

He is as red as a lobster, in bed with a rash. He hopes that she and her husband can come to his wedding in September. Charlotte is lovely and it is a pleasure to him after all the "rows and dislike about her" that she should be so welcome in York Street [home of George & Julia Richmond]. The great family parties have dwindled, although the young ones are coming out, Edith wore her first low frock the other day.

The Prince of Wales expressed delight in his picture [a copy of the Winterhalter of the Queen], although how natural the sentiment was he doesn't know. The Prince is handsome and gentleman, but his lower jaw shows a weakness and lack of decision.

He goes to Nothumberland for four weeks to paint three children and then Wales to paint three more of the Dean of Christchurch's children. Discusses the works ongoing to her church and hopes to contribute towards the organ. Talks of Laura's husband, a thunder storm and the war in Denmark.
