son induced him to agree to the proposal of marriage to his
daughter. He and his solicitor, Mr. Garth, have met several times with Mr. Dowding, though there is still a significant gap in agreement of the terms of the settlement. He lays out his own understanding of the situation and sees no reason for objection.
