Content Description

He is delighted to hear her maintain that she is not happy until a debt is paid, it has always been his credo. Continues, warming to his theme of frugality and prompt payment. Discusses in imprecise terms a possible engagement of one "we all like very much", asserting that he can discern "good humour and honest manners", dragging [Samuel] Johnson into the matter to prove these qualities can exist beneath disgusting exteriors. Continues with moral guidance concerning her "inconsiderate hurry and vivacity of imagination", advises she reads an issue of the Spectator on "passion". He wishes all at Halnaby well and thanks Milbanke for the game.
