Content Description

Summer has brought out the Italian ladies, describes the scene in the Borghese Gardens. Describes his daily routine, illunimations of St. Peter's and the Girandola. He went on an excursion with an American sculptor into the Campagna, Aricia, Albano, Marino and Frascati.

He has started to carve his head of Italia, also a bas relief of Hero and Leander. He is also working on a figure of Cupid feeding the doves of Venus. All these he hopes to send for exhibition. His marble Hebe is spoilt by a vein in the marble running down her body. Although cameos are expensive he will enquire of one for John. Sends various souvenirs and curios from Roman sites. Reacts to the news of the death of William IV and the accession of Victoria.
