Content Description

Gives details of his recent painting activities; has sat to Egg, and seen his new subject picture; Ward has nearly finished his prison subject and started on another, from a poem by John Gilpin; Elmore progresses well with his Shakespeare subject; gives an account of the business of several artists, naming Leslie, Webster, Creswick; compliments Miller on the Etty he has newly purchased; discusses a possible commission of a small work 'of the goodnatured man class'.

Note in Miller's hand regarding his wish for a painting no larger than 28 inches.
