Boxall refers in the letter to Harriet Hosmer; [Benjamin] Spence, who looked better than he expected; Solomon [Gibson], who contemplated paying his brother a visit in Rome; and the Eastlakes. He also describes his own health, and professional aspirations, saying that "thirty years of portrait painting had done for [him]".
