Content Description

Thank her for Chec's letter, in which he appears less morbid. He is glad she did not attempt the journey with him. He has been good for nothing, righting his poem into the small hours. Higgins comes to stay.

From the next day he will work on his statue as hard as he can. He will go to Berlin in November to paint Malet and his wife, good for him and it means he will see Dresden.

His studio in Kensington looks wonderful, whitewashed and clean. The last proof of Fidele is ready, Dowdswell will also publish Sarpedon. His Joan of Arc comes from his mind piece by piece. Edmund is quite obedient and keeps thing neat.
