Content Description

Describes his studies of the Aldobrandini Marriage and Raphael's "boy". When he has finished his full-sized cartoon he will off to Naples and Capri to draw in the open. A herd of cows has stampeded over his sketching bag, which was stolen by the drovers.

There is talk of European war in Rome. He now has a pupil, a young man of great ability. Moore and his wife are to leave, he hears that Albert Moore is at work on a large picture. He has met a Spaniard called Fortuna, who is very good. He has also heard a lot about an Italian called "Vanutelli"?. The "old ones" continue the school of costume model painting, this headed by Penry Williams. Sculpture is at a low, and imitations of Gibson common.

Physical Characteristics
