Regarding the repositioning of his portrait of George IV in the Vatican; he cannot wait to see the Seaport and the sketches by that "young Gentleman" Mr. Turner, he remembers lauding Turner to the aristocracy when in Rome; asks confidentially whether Turner is painting [illegible]; he has just dined with Mr. Jones who has just finished his Nelson for Greenwich Hospital, their talk was mostly of [Turner]; Mr. Williams hasn't written; he knows Mr. Severn is improving from the works he exhibited; he praises the character and ability of Mr. Uwins.
