Content Description

He has only just received Jackson's letter, which had been shut in a music book at Palmer's. He discusses creativity, Jackson's distraction by "polite acquaintance" and the resulting drop in work-rate. Concludes with a celebrated passage on the relative position of history and landscape painting, "... a little business for the eye ...".
