He has been as successful at Vienna as he was at Aix; Lord Stewart has been very helpful; the Emperor has been very kind; he describes his accommodation; he has painted two Russian Generals, Count Capo Distria, Prince Schwartzenberg, Prince Metternich and the Emperor; he regrets Raphael never saw the works of Rubens, he has also admired works by Titian; he also admires a fine early Rembrandt, [the Blinding of Sampson]; he sends thanks for news of the Academy and the election of [Samuel Lysons as Antiquary, he is sad to hear of Owen's health; he wishes Thomson to write as he has knowledge of Vienna.
