In January there is a letter proposing a commission, 12th May 1874, from George Donald; in March are pasted two letters, one relating to title from A. Creasley[?], 27th January, and one from
H. Goodwin, Bishop of Carlisle, 27th March 1877 regarding proposed alterations to his portrait; in July is pasted a death notice for Henry Merritt and a newspaper obituary, also in July an invitation to the wedding of the daughter of the Duke of Buccleuch; in December he notes being elected an Honorary Assosiate Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects.
