Chawner who must be busy [fighting in the Pennisula War], he hopes for a letter after the next victory; he responds to her account of a balloon ascension by Mr. Sadler; he will write in apology to Miss Briscoe; he provides an account of the sudden death of Mr. Wyatt in a carriage accident, similar to one recently experienced by Lawrence and [West]; he comments favourably on the fittings installed by Mr. Smirke in the Theatre; Mrs. Wolff looked well when he last saw her.
