Content Description

Informing him that the matter of the reinstatement of [Alfred] Gilbert as a Royal Academician rested entirely with the President. However, if the President and Council asked for the King's approval, Stamfordham felt sure the King would grant it. It was therefore up to Olivier and others who recognised that Gilbert had made good and was worthy of reinstatement, to put his case before the President and Council.
