He has examined the
Raphael and
Michelangelo drawings exhibited in the Oxford University Galleries, they are beginning to deteriorate; he thinks the drawings should be repaired and then remounted, ideally they would also be re-framed or could be kept in portfolios; there is much uncertainty about the effects of light but he strongly advises they be kept away from the light and only exhibited from time to time; the cost of preparing and remounting the drawings would be about 10-15 shillings each.
