He has seen Vicar's drawings and thinks those by Raphael and Michelangelo are very fine; Vicar overcharged Sir G. Beaumont when he sold the Michelangelo Tondo, but Woodburn will try and ensure a good price for the drawings; he is very upset to hear the Rembrandt has not yet reached London, he has written to Paris about it; Rome is in raptures about his portrait of the King, he should soon receive a letter from Cardinal Gonsalvi; he apologises for the harsh tones of his previous letter concerning the National Gallery, he is personally interested in its creation and hope he would be chosen to buy for it.
