He hopes his collection of pictures will benefit Lawrence's reputation as well as posterity; but then recounts a story told by Horace Walpole of the visitors coming to Houghton just to view where "old Sir Robert"" slept; Mrs. Peel tells him that Lawrence wants to exhibit at the Royal Academy the picture of the Ld. Chancellor, if so he asks that Lawrence hurry up with that of the Duke of Wellington.
