Historical Background

Minutes of Council, 2 July 1914, record that the report was ordered to be circulated to members of Council, and to representatives of the RA appointed to confer with members of the Board of Education on the establishment by HM Government of final schools of fine art. The report helped lead to the creation of the Committee on the creation of a state school of fine art of 1914.
