Content Description

An anecdote centred on Benjamin West's visit to Paris in 1802. It is claimed that Napoléon sought out the artist in the Louvre, only to show him a sketch of Death on a Pale Horse and enquire as to when it would be completed on an appropriate scale. The writer claims to have been told the story by West himself.
