Royal Academy.

Gentlemen,
We the undersigned, students
of the Royal Academy, most humbly
and respectfully beg you to reconsider
your decision regarding the expulsion
of Binney, Glasby & Sims from the
Schools.
We fully realize that their action
may seem to have been an expression
of defiance of the School Authorities, but
as their fellow-students we can assure
you that nothing was further from their
minds; it was an act of momentary
thoughtlessness, the seriousness of which
they did not realize.
We feel that their expulsion affects
not only themselves but all of us, &
while not wishing even to seem in any
way to make light of insubordination
to you, Gentlemen, we respectfully
petition you to be lenient & refrain
from inflicting such a heavy

punishment which may well have a very
damaging effect on the careers of the students
concerned.
We need hardly say that we
would do our best to avoid giving you
the slightest cause to regret your clemency.
