Content Description

He showed Spielmann's proposal to a friend, who thought it for the good of the whole porfession. He has written to the Pall Mall Gazette with a couple of further points, which may be appreciated at the "Arts" [Club] and the "Hogarth" [Club].

Includes a copy of the letter sent to the Gazette, under the nom de plum of "Piron". He thinks the reform proposed would end the ridiculous practice of rejected works being sent back to the Academy year after year. He raises the fact that recent Academy elections shows the institution can change. He mentions the "much talked about" rejection of van Haanen's picture.
