Content Description

The records consist of a pamphlet, issued jointly with the Royal Society and the Royal Society of Arts, describing the purposes of the Committee and asking for financial contributions (it was stated that a sum of £5,000 was immediatley required for them to start their work), 5 December 1924; pamphlet issued by the Royal Academy, describing the purpose, composition and scope of research of the Committee, and appealing for contributions from 'known supporters of the Fine Arts', undated, circa 1924; memorandum on the repair of pictures for publication in newspapers, November 1926; and preliminary report of the Committee, 11pp, February 1928.
