He has been informed of the death of Mr. Wheler, the resignation of Mr. Hastings and the return of Sir John d'Oyley all of whom he depended upon. He has been writing to everyone who may introduce him to the governor Mr. Macpherson. He has been told that Parliamentary support from England could help him secure preferment in India, he asks her to enlist the help of her Uncle. He prays to be remembered to Mr. and Mrs. Banks and Mr. and Mrs. Farington, and has been thinking of Mr. Knowles. He draws all he sees.
