He is perfectly well, but anxious to leave India. The cold months are regular, but he dreads to approach of the hot season. He has sent her nine shawls by the Bennington, the ship he had hoped to take himself. Four beautiful ones, that had been presented to him by the Nabob of Lucknow, have been detroyed by white ants. Her letters give him comfort in difficulty. Mr. Macpherson is detained at the river, due to Humphry's case in equity against him. He believes he has the strictest justice in his claim.
