Content Description

Bell complains of the preponderence of portraits. He has heard that a third of the pictures accepted for exhibition were returned to their owners due to lack of space. He thinks the Academy should be moved to a new building on the site of the old King's Mews to act as a "proud memorial" fronting a "new square".
