Mr Fitton had been dining with an (un-named) MP, who had said that a motion was to be tabled in the House [of Commons] advocating the withdrawal from the RA of the royal warrant (or royal patronage) because of the RA's "retrograde policy or retrograde influence on art."
Mr Rushbury suggested that some other MP should be primed to respond, should the question arise.
