Content Description

Giving news of friends of Gibson's in England. Lloyd describes [William] Boxall's ill health. She remarks that his views on art were perhaps even a shade gloomier than when Gibson had taken leave of him. She mentions that "the Imp" [Harriet Hosmer] had begun her lawsuit, against the advice of all Gibson's friends in England. Lloyd doubts whether [Hosmer] would be able to punish the libellers: in fact, the notoriety would probably do them good and increase the sale of their "wretched little journal".
