Mr. A continues in good health; he is sorry to hear the news of Owen's health, he has faults but deserves better; comments positively on the behaviour of Thomson; he explains the arrangements for his journey to Aix la Chapelle to paint the King of Prussia, Emperor of Austria and the Russian Emperor and all their principle ministers and generals; Lord Castlereagh has offered help with accommodation; the Duke and Lord Stewart will be there to encourage him; he maintains that despite his nerves he is painting at his best in the portraits of Mr. West, Lord Castlereagh and Sir William Grant; he has declined painting Sir T.D. Acland and the Duke of Leeds; he ponders taking Mr. Simpson as an assistant; details difficulties with sittings for Lord Liverpool.
