He congratulates Lawrence on his success and states indetail the benefits he should accrue through the portraits done at Aix la Chapelle; he suggests a public exhibition of them, the Prince Regent wouldn't object, and he could have engravings taken (by arrangement with Bowyer and Colnaghi); he applauds Lawrence's decision not to take new sitters; he is glad Mr. Angerstein is well; he spins an account of Westmacott learning of Lawrence's imminent journey at Mr. Long's; Long has encouraged Lord Liverpool to take a picture from Callcott; Thomson has been a great help to him; provides a character sketch of Thomson; Thomson is apprehensive for Owen, Farington thinks both he and Phillips will profit from Lawrence's refusals; he encloses a letter from Smirke.
