Morris is well but stationed poorly as Captain in the European Regiment. Robert Grant has married a sister of Farquharson's. Leonard Collings has been appointed paymaster to the garrison and station at Chunar. Cameron continues as Engineer there. Captain Brown and Mrs Grant are well, he is on the invalid establishment, and still talks of divorce. If it doesn't happen soon Mrs Grant should return to England. Humphry's demand on him for 600 siccas has been honoured. Captain R. Scott has lost his wife, Humphry's shipmate. Continues with news of acquaintances at Cawnpore. He has found the Friths and describes their circumstances. Describes an expedition to Delhi. Thomas Daniell has made many drawings. On his return from Delhi Daniell set off again and has is in the middle of an extensive tour. He was obliged to engraved the Calcutta Views himself.
