Content Description

He was pleased to receive Humphry's letter and the news that his eyes have recovered somewhat and that cold water acts as a remedy, rather than the painful methods he has resorted to in the past.

He has been anxiously waiting for news of Humphry's position in India. As one of Humphry's agents has returned to England he hoped he would have heard correct information by now. But he is heartily encouraged by the contents of Humphry's letter.

Mr. Towne and Mr Abbott are well. Mr. Jackson, whom he expected to die at any moment when they were in Bath, is better than ever.
