Content Description

He is surprised that thier father thinks he should continue with Sir Joshua; both Sir Joshua and himself know that he must leave if his work is to develop, he quotes Sir Joshua speaking to the Bishop of St. Asaph concerning Garrick's lack of pupils; Samuel's opinion that he would not make £200 working in the Plymough area has nearly decided him to go to Portsmouth, though he trembles at the thought of beginning his career among strangers; he supplied strict instructions for unpacking the crate of pictures which he has sent to Plymouth by sea; none of the wrapping should be discarded.
