Content Description

Northcote cannot answer all his correspondent's questions by letter, so his correspondent must call on him. He cannot remember what he wrote in his Life of Reynolds: although rather an awkward performance, it was still the best account of him. He had seen the letters between Reynolds and Valentine Green, but they were so wretchedly vulgar, he could not think that they were true.
