Content Description

Graham Gilbert expresses the sense of disappointment that Gibson had not been able to visit Scotland. He mentions the success of Gibson's bust of the Princess of Wales. He was glad that Gibson had been invited to Windsor Castle by the Queen, and that she seemed cheerful. Gibson's little statue of 'Proserpina' was much admired and valued by Graham Gilbert and his wife. He also seen a copy of Gilbert's statue of a 'Girl and Infant' while on a visit to Mr Houldsworth: it was in an excellent light and situation. He asks Gibson if he would be interested in undertaking a statue in bronze of Lord Clyde. Graham Gilbert was on the committee for the work, and would do his best to obtain it for him.
