Mrs Bell had been to the RA, and seen Middleton Todd's new rendering [of the portrait of her late husband,
Bishop Bell.] She thought it older, and with "a slight air of defeatism?" She would very much like a photograph. Mrs Bell concludes by hoping that Middleton Todd was really improved in health, and thinks so, to judge from his exhibited works.
