Content Description
Explaining the ins and outs of the Academy election. S. Forbes showed well from the first. There was a strong party for Logsdail. The "faddists", headed by B. Rivière made a fight for Swan. The meeting was thinly attended, Leighton away because of his father's death. The "geniuses" were asent. Herkomer still suffering from the "personal calamity" of the Duke of Avondale's death. The "cripples" made it, Seymour Lucas on crutches, Henry Moore with broken wrists. The election was seen as satisfactory by the members. All of the above is, of course, confidential.
