The present owner of Battersea Rise, his old Harrow friend 'Friday' Thornton was with them a few days after Richmond's visit and he told him the delightful story of the picture in 1832; he is glad that Richmond was not over-fatigued by the public day; he was so thankful that the University showed her respect for Richmond.
