Content Description

Fuseli was in no fear of Putney's being left untenanted before his return to town, notwithstanding her threatened departure that day. But when Knowles mentioned what that day was to celebrate, fattened calves and royal visitors, his heart misgave him, and he began to fear, that if she had not answered the note inclosed in his last, to Knowles, he should receive the first news of her from Folkestone.

Fuseli sees no reason why he should hurry his decision on the principal figures to be exhibited in the Antique Academy: it was, however, his intention to place the Apollo in front of the central window and flank him on the left with the Theseus, and on the right with the Ilissus. Should any alteration suggest itself, he would take care to give timely notice. Knowles would have the goodness to explain this to "the Giantguardian".

Fuseli concludes by asking him to present his kindest regards to Knowles's brother.
