Content Description

Kelly passes on criticisms of the Royal Academy and works by two of its members, which he had heard uttered by a person he took to be an official lecturer at the Tate Gallery, while on a visit there. The works in question were 'Return from the Ride' by [Charles] Furse, and 'Sir William McCormick', by Sir William Orpen. Kelly quotes in inverted commas remarks which he and his wife were agreed were actually uttered by the "lecturer".
