Content Description

Cruikshank had been making enquiries about reporting, and had discovered that it was very difficult to obtain a position on the establishment of a newspaper. His correspondent should send in reports to the different papers from time to time, and so work up to it. Cruikshank would do all he could to assist him. Mr Bentley had been talking about the novel several times, but nothing was decided as to the illustrations. Cruikshank ends by urging his "old messmate" to cheer up.
