Copy of letter in reply to a letter from Mills's solicitors [dated 21 July 1874] concerning the liability of the RA for two paintings of his which had become lost after being submitted to the exhibition, pointing out that it was clearly stated that the RA accepted no responsibility for loss or damage to works, but nevertheless requesting a full account from Mills of what had happened.
