Content Description

Copy letter to the secretary of [William Ewart] Gladstone, stating that Sir Robert Peel had no claim whatever to demand returns of information about the inner working and management of the Royal Academy, as it received no income from the state, and was not under the control of the state. Leighton asks for Gladstone's views on the matter.
