He doesn't think the proposal will serve unless the Academicians similarly limit their submissions to the exhibition. He thinks it a farce to use the same regulations that suited in Reynolds's day. The right for Academicians to have eight works on the line should be abolished. The system in Paris is much more in harmony with the times.
