Thanking Lamb for information concerning [the resignation from the Royal Academy of] Alfred Gilbert. A woman of the name of Miss McAllister, ignorant of the details, has tried to organise a movement to get Gilbert back to the country. Ponsonby states that he has been in communication with the ambassador at Rome, with a view to inducing her to abandon the idea.
