Read at meeting of Council of 12 May 1874, and the Secretary instructed to inform Leighton that the Council were unable to comply with his request.

Content Description

Leighton asks the Council if a rail could be installed along the whole end of Gallery II at the Summer Exhibition to protect his painting 'Moorish Garden' from the risk of damage caused by the numbers of people wanting to see Miss Thompson's painting ['Calling the Roll after an engagement, Crimea', or 'The Roll Call'].
