Content Description

She asks him to give an enclosed letter to the Duke of Dorset before he visits the King. She will not be able to speak to the Duke in time, and Lady Harcourt could well have by then "beged the patent for Mrs. Sidons". Lord Salisbury could help her a little. After a long conversation the Duchess of Rutland has promised to interest herself. Lady Chatham has promised to write to the Countess of Courtown to speak to the Queen. She wants a portion of the [Covent Garden] theatre's profits, as the patent will be awarded the moment after "poor Colman's" death.
