Informing Gibson that the committee of the exhibition had agreed to add his statue of 'Cupid'. However,
the Duke of Devonshire had refused to lend 'Mars and Cupid'; they were reluctant to appproach
the Queen for 'Grazia'; and felt unable to approach
Lord Yarborough for the 'Nymph'.
