Content Description
Lutyens writes that it is a critical year for the Royal Academy financially, and it depends primarily on the Summer Exhibition for its existence. He therefore urges Lee to ensure the exhibition's success by producing his best work, and so prove to the critics that the Royal Academy is not moribund.
