Content Description
Two draft first person versions in the name of the President [Sir Gerald Kelly] and a third draft for issue by members of the Hanging Committee. John had informed the President that the picture he had intended to complete his decoration for the summer exhibition had gone wrong. The Hanging Committee therefore had to fill the space left with alternative works by the same artist. John would now have three paintings in the exhibition instead of one, and the Committee had had to withdraw two of his drawings.
