Content Description

Requesting that a rhyme on his painting Merry Christmas in the olden time be inserted into Fraser's Magazine. The same was done for Old Hallow Eve. The picture has taken him four or five months of labour. He thinks the depiction of obselete customs requires explanation and wants to point to the rhyme in the magzine in the catalogue of the Royal Academy.

He has heard from Thackeray that Fraser is in better health.
